This was a fantastic stay! I stayed at the Knighton Hotel with my mum and sister for a short walking trip. We were expecting a boring and impersonal hotel and planned to camp after the first night - but the Knighton Hotel was so amazing that we ended up staying for the whole of our holiday. The staff were exceptional and friendly. When I asked the receptionist about local walks she went above and beyond and wrote down directions for several beautiful trails. The handyman was also very friendly and gave us the background on the local area. The room was roomy for the three of us and very light with two windows - also very clean with a nice bathroom. We were given a good breakfast to take out (cereal, pastry and snack bars) and there was coffee available. There are several sitting rooms and a very comfortable lounge. Also, although the town was very quiet there was a great bar a few doors up the street (The Banc) with wonderful food and several pubs which we never got the chance to try! It was also excellent value for money. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely go back and bring some more friends with me!

The reception lady was very helpful. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and really clean bed linen and towels. En suite facilities were clean and modern. Although the hotel no longer provides food, the kitchen was available to guests to use as their own. Although I didn’t use the kitchen, I did look around, it is on the ground floor and clearly visible through glazed doors, to anyone who enters the hotel. The hotel provides plastic containers for guests to keep their foodstuffs in the glass fronted fridges. Different but obviously a facility for guests rather than just closed! Dining area and the bar lounge were closed to guest as far as I know. I absolutely have no issues with the Knighton hotel.

The location is amazing. Such a beautiful part of the world and situated in the heart of Knighton.. it appears that the property has been taken over and is in transition to transform it back to its former vibrant self. Fantastic original features still remain but there has obviously been a lot of work to modernise rooms and decor. Lovely, welcoming staff who advised what to do and where to eat locally. I'm looking forward to coming back again to see how things have progressed and to do more in the area

We are glad that we have ignored the negative reviews who did not take into consideration that the hotel has been taken over and in the mid of upgrading the facilities (NOT those noisy building upgrades) and booked the Knighton. Lovely building. comfy room and excellent customer service. It will be a lovely hotel once it is all done. Will definitely stay here again which is right in the town centre.
